The Northern Arizona University (NAU) women’s basketball team dropped a road contest at Portland State University 66–61 on Feb. 7

After leading for a majority of the game, the Lumberjacks were unable to fight off the Vikings. The Jacks were leading at halftime with a score of 36–33, and were commanding a better part of the second half before the Vikings tied the game at 58 apiece and finished off the game.

NAU’s record has now lowered to 5-16 overall, and 4-8 in the Big Sky Conference (BSC) putting them in tenth place in the conference with the latter part of its season in full swing.

On the dismal night for the Jacks, senior forward Tyler Stephens-Jenkins and senior center Aubrey Davis still managed to put up impressive numbers with 19 and 10 points respectively.

Despite the loss, the Lumberjacks still shot 40 percent from the field and 83 percent from the stripe. Next on the schedule, NAU travels to Eastern Washington University to face the Eagles who sit in third spot in the BSC.
