Sarah Neatherton, a senior forward on the NAU soccer team, will finish her career as one of the top in the Lumberjack soccer program. Currently second in career assists, fourth in career shots and sixth in career points, Neatherton has left her mark in the NAU soccer record book. Here, she speaks to The Lumberjack about her love for the Cleveland Browns, her crush on T.O. and her refusal to tweet.

The Lumberjack: When did you start playing soccer, and why did you decide to play?
Sarah Neatherton: I started playing soccer when I learned to walk and talk. I was 5, and my mom put me in swimming and gymnastics, and my dad put me in soccer and softball, and I guess soccer was the sport I stuck with.

LJ: What’s been your most memorable moment or game you’ve been a part of?
SN: I never won a championship until I got here, so I’m going to have to say beating Weber on their home field to win the Big Sky [last year].

LJ: If you weren’t playing soccer right now, what sport would you be playing?
SN: I don’t know if I would be playing any sport. In high school, I stopped playing softball to focus on soccer, so maybe softball.

LJ: Have you ever thought of trying out for kicker on the NAU football team?
SN: Absolutely not (laughs).

LJ: How would you describe head coach Andre Luciano in three words?
SN: Stern, dedicated and knowledgeable.

LJ: What is the best thing about having a twin?
SN: The best thing about being a twin is that no matter what happens in life, I will always have a best friend.

LJ: What’s your favorite professional sports team?
SN: That’s easy, Cleveland Browns. I’m probably going to get a thumbs down for that one.

LJ: The Browns are playing the Cardinals — who do you cheer for?
SN: The Browns (laughs).

LJ: What’s your favorite all-time movie?
SN: Stand By Me because it’s a movie I watched growing up, and it never gets old.

LJ: What is one thing that only your teammates know about you?
SN: That I’m actually really sensitive — not too many people know that.

LJ: Who is your celebrity crush?
SN: I guess it can be an athlete too, right? Probably T.O. (laughs). Shall I not say that? (laughs).

LJ: What is your motto in life?
SN: I have quite a few. I think that “everything happens for a reason.”

LJ: What’s your opinion on Twittering?
SN: I always call it “Tweeter.” I don’t really have an opinion. I think the commercials for it are hilarious. [Teammate] Sam Monahan tried to make me an account for Twitter, but I refused.

LJ: Twilight or Harry Potter?
SN: Harry Potter.

SN: I’m either going to be Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz, with three of my really good guy friends who are going to be the other characters, or I’ll probably dress up as a football player again, something easy.
