There’s no room for racial hatred

It saddens me that the topic of race is prevalent in today’s society. People apparently cannot get over the matter that some individuals have a certain skin tone and others have a different one. There are many variations in the pigment spectrum.
Okay, do we understand it now? No one needs to waste time pointing out color — unless, of course, you are truly ignorant. Life is life, and it has nothing to do with physical dissimilarities, especially when it comes to love and who you chose to be with.
Blatant staring, rude gestures and gossip are a few of the injustices interracial partners must endure. For what ill-seated reason is this discrimination still thriving in society? In some states, marriage of racially diverse couples is still loathed — sometimes not even allowed.
Recently, Louisiana Justice of the Peace Keith Bardwell refused to marry an interracial couple. He said two people of different races marrying is “wrong” and he would rather resign than join them in union. Another Justice of the Peace in the region later wed the couple.
Pompous bigots who march around convinced a brown person should not be with a white one — or that cultures should not “mix” — have some growing up to do. People of any race are the same, and criticizing interracial couples is unnecessary and disgusting.
Bardwell also remarked about how children born from interracial couples are susceptible to a much harder life than those who are not. That statement is just a whole load of crap. Life can be hard for everyone, bottom line.
Civil rights activists are trying to have Bardwell fired and are advising him to quit immediately.
That’s all fine and dandy, but the root of the problem here is being overlooked. Something must be done about the views of racists worldwide, or we will never wake up and face the real pressing issues in society.
Ludicrous actions like the one made by this justice continue to fuel racists in society. He needs to lose his title and be taught a lesson about how unjust it is to be discriminatory. It is not okay, and it never has been.
Those who share the same horrendous viewpoints as Bardwell need a wake-up call. The world will benefit from peace and unity, not from people who stand around like morons and talk about skin color.
Pointless hatred and racial issues help no one; it is still going to take time for some ignorant people to realize that.
