ASNAU has announced that musical artist Ke$ha will be performing live at the Walkup Sky Dome on Sunday, Oct. 10 at 7p.m. The performance will be free to NAU students as part of the “23” fee Mountain Campus students now pay with their tuition.

“ASNAU could not be more excited to bring Ke$ha to the NAU campus for a huge concert,” ASNAU student body president Chase Hunt said Monday after he received confirmation. “This would not have been possible without the tireless efforts of everyone involved in ASNAU and Sun Entertainment. We hope all students get excited and are ready to have an awesome night in the Dome on 10-10-10!”

The concert will be the first in the Dome in several years and will be for all students with a valid student ID.

Hunt said there will be floor seats granted to a limited amount of students with additional students filling the stadium seating. The concert will begin with an opening act of an artist to be determined and will be followed by headliner Ke$ha. Doors will open at 6 p.m., with the opening act at 7 p.m. and Ke$ha on stage at 8 p.m.

This concert comes funded as part of the “23” fee initiative purposed last semester by ASNAU. The fee, in its first semester, has already funded extended library hours and was used to purchase 10,000 “Kiss My Axe” t-shirts that are currently being given to students in the ASNAU office through Sept. 24.

Ke$ha, who was nominated for several MTV Video Music Awards earlier this month, released her debut album Animal in January of this year. This will be Ke$ha’s first appearance in Northern Arizona.
