Confessions of Two Shopaholics: How to be fashionable on the college student’s budget

As college students, budget is a scary word that implies a Top Ramen diet and selling plasma for spare cash. But fear not; these desperate measures do not have to define your wardrobe.
Although our fashion resources may be geographically limited here in Flagstaff, we are determined to break the barrier and not let this hinder or discourage us from being able to express ourselves through what we wear. Of course, we know you all have a sense of fashion, but we want you to have genuine, affordable style. Therefore, we have decided to provide you with four basic, user-friendly tips that will expand your wardrobe and keep cash in your wallet.
Tip #1: Live fashionably within your means. This includes being conscientious of prices and braving the sale racks for marked-down items. By establishing a monthly apparel budget and avoiding swiping that credit card, you will find less temptation to spend money you don’t have.
Tip #2: Get creative and maximize the wear of the clothes already hanging in your closet. This can also be a great opportunity to sift through your wardrobe and discover the clothes that are no longer in fashion, as well as the garments you never wear. Share these items with a friend, or make some spare cash by selling them to a second hand store, such as Trendz (located off Milton in Flagstaff).
Tip #3: Buy only what you need. To stay within your apparel budget, abstain from impulse purchases. Those random sales can be remarkably tempting, but it is crucial to decide what your budget is and stick with it. Buying something you don’t need for half-off is still buying something you don’t need. Also, don’t buy for specific occasions. However, as an exception, if the desired garment or outfit has the potential to serve a purpose beyond the one-time use, the purchase is justifiable.
Tip #4: When craving something new the budget won’t allow, don’t hesitate to borrow clothes from friends. This can be a fun, easy way to acquire a fresh look without spending a penny.
We hope these simple tips will help you find it easier to stay in budget while continuing to enjoy the latest trends. Whether it’s dressing to impress or attempting to attract that special someone, bring your own sense of style and a touch of flair to the streets of Flagstaff.

Being a fashionista myself. I have to say that the essential element for maintaining some sort of metropolitan concept of popular culture on top of this hill is online shopping. One is aable to search for that perfect pair of gloves (like the pink ones Carries wears when she decides not to go on vacation with Big on “Sex in the City”, that I had to have) for an affordable price, $15 new on eBay. It takes time; patients and you need to know your sizes. Like glove size.
There are also a number of online shopping clubs that sell designer items. Some right off the runway.
I must admit that that is one fantastic insight. It surely gives a company the opportunity to get in on the ground floor and really take part in creating something special and tailored to their needs.
