Frost/Nixon has an electric intensity in its tone that gripped me and held me throughout. The terrific performances carried the film’s power, especially that of Frank Langella, who played Nixon.

Langella, in fact, was perfect for the role because he is almost an exact replica of Nixon, only taller. He talks, looks and has identical mannerisms to the former president. His cheeks even shake violently when he gets angry. Furthermore, director Ron Howard humanized Nixon to the point that I sympathized with him, which was an amazing feat because, being the communist hippie that I am, sympathizing with Richard Nixon was something that was very difficult for me to do. People might think Frost/Nixon is just another boring history lesson, but they’re wrong.

In reality, Frost/Nixon is not only enjoyable, but a very relevant social satire, especially in today’s political climate.
